Well, a little patience has paid off. We recently received good news on several fronts. First, the property we had submitted a proposal for a few months back, located off 98th Ave and 880 (on the Oakland/San Leandro border), is back on the market. Their broker called us! We submitted a new proposal last week and expect to have discussions with the owner over the next few weeks. So, keep your fingers crossed on this one.
[separator]Second, we received an announcement from the World Curling Federation (WCF) about a new program – they will supply and finance a portable curling facility. All we need to do is find some land to place it and provide a viable business plan. We are currently evaluating the feasibility of this option, specifically looking at land availability and applicable building codes.
[separator]The Board discussed these options and others at its last meeting and agreed we need to pursue all possible avenues, so a number of us are working hard to explore them. We will of course keep you posted.
[separator]Speaking of which, we will be holding a set of member forums the week of Nov 17 either before or after league times to provide a more detailed DI update. An email announcing these forums is imminent.
