Dear Members and Friends of Curling,

Earlier this evening, the membership of the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club voted to authorize the club’s Board of Directors to proceed with building in Hayward, CA what will be the only dedicated curling facility in California. Once operational, the new curling center will provide a greater diversity of draw times and activities, improved ice quality, and allow us to fully develop our Youth/Junior curling initiative as well as new wheelchair and deaf curling programs.

This vote marks an exciting moment in our club’s history, and yet we are just at the beginning. In order to reach this extraordinary goal, we are faced with the immediate task of raising at least $200,000 before we may execute a lease—and this is only the first part of a much larger fundraising campaign to cover our capital/buildout costs (the details of which you’ll be hearing about soon!).

SFBACC has already experienced incredible success with limited resources. Our club’s current membership is nearly 160 strong. We routinely send curlers through to all levels of national and international competition. In 2014 alone, we have taught over 1500 individuals to curl, and have enrolled 120+ in our sold-out lesson series. Just imagine what the future might hold with our own, dedicated facility.

But we can’t get there without your help. Can you show your support with an initial donation of $25 today?

Let’s build this thing,

Mike
